SurgiCal Obesity Treatment Study

The SCOT study (ISRCTN47072588) is a longitudinal cohort study of bariatric surgery across Scotland (funded by the National Institute of Health Research Health Technology Appraisal Programme 10/42/02). It will follow all patients undergoing bariatric surgery in Scotland for a mean of 10 years. Outcomes will include mortality, diabetes incidence, diabetes complications, weight change, surgical complications, quality of life and fractures.
